Makes a great trailer for kids!

Makes a great trailer for kids!
I wanted a trailer for my daughter to ride in but didn't like the size of a two wheeled trailer. After a lot of research and not finding a single wheel one I liked I decided to create my own. I bought this BOB trailer, a cheap car seat and a few straps. I added a mud guard and canopy. She has rode 200+ miles and loves it!

My B.O.B. Trailer arrived today. Packaging was fantastic, no issues with the box or internal packaging. It only took about 10 minutes to set it up. I purchased an extra skewer for my other bike. The welds are nicely done, no sloppy workmanship with this product. Sleek design, and rolls really easy. I cannot wait to run it down some gavel trails. The bag is sturdy, and put together for rugged use, with plenty of room for all your extra gear Other trailers that I looked at were less expensive but in the end I am glad I went with the BOB. A good quality product, yes you pay a little more granted but when you are getting ready for that long distance ride like I am planning I want that piece of mind that it is going to hold up to the miles upon miles I plan on taking it. Do yourself a favor, bite the bullet, and just go for it. You only live once but if you work it right once is enough!.

I will say that I like my Burley trailer better, but the Burley can’t handle very narrow trails. So for certain trail riding, and certain rough trails, the Bob Ibex is the way to go. For a regular commute, though, I prefer a two-wheeled trailer, but I really can’t hold that against the Bob.

The Bob trailer is well-made, rugged, and a bit heavy, but the alternative is less palatable (lighter, less rugged, less trail ready). The lighter you can load it, the better (40 pounds seems all around best).

A high quality trailer. Very strong and lightweight. Have had no problems with the trailer at all. That is a good thing as I have left several messages with the manufacturer and stateside rep without a return call. Cannot imagine what would happen if I had a warranty claim. The price is too high, but the quality is great, so a trade off for sure. Very concerned about communication with the company however.

Very nice finish on the trailer. Just don't play with the suspension nut like i did when it arrived. I didn't realise it had a hand screw with notches that set 3 weight positions by altering the angle of the suspension assembly.

The package also came with stretchy straps to hold the dry bag down which was an added bonus. The axle locking pins are retained by rubber leashes and there are nice welded eyelets on the trailer so you can hook them in to stop them dangling when you store it.

The mudguard is probably the only miss on the trailer. Its pretty flimsy and there is no easy way to attach an LED light instead of the reflector.

Just what I expected. Have had great difficulty getting any info about the correct size of Bobnutz to install on my solid axle bike. I have called and submitted emails with no satisfaction. A word of warning. This company is now basically a baby stroller company that also happens to sell trailers. Know that going in. This trailer seems solid as it is reputed to be, but if you need customer service, you are going to be dealing with an operator whose primary job is to walk you through all of the recalls on their strollers.

This product is very well made, because I have a rack mounted on my Catrike recumbent rear axle, I had to modify the rack mount to accommodate the Bob trailer mount to prevent having to modify it's attachment to the axle. Very sturdy and it tracks perfect. It's not recommended to carry live cargo but I ride my service in it. He loves it, plus he gets to stay with me when I ride.

Two complaints on an otherwise excellent piece of equipment. Lack of stability when stopped could be fixed by selling or adding a stand feature. Weighed down with gear stopping is atrocious without laying the entire rig up against something. Worst design feature is the plastic fender. The attachment point is plastic and anything getting caught between the wheel and the fender immediately breaks the fender. A stick on a rail trail did mine in within the first 36 miles of use which caused the fender to rub on the tire. A slim metal reinforcing sleeve would easily/cheaply eliminate this problem. I will fashion one to fix the otherwise useless fender after my trip/

Very well made of quality materials. I thought the dry sack would be a thicker material but I guess it is ok. I have used it once so far (unloaded) and it rides straight. Perhaps once I get a chance to use it loaded I'll see if the spring was worth the extra money. I have no experience with the non-spring version/ Price was high but worth the price due to the excellent quality.
