Product Description

Lezyne’s GPS line has long made a name for itself by packing the cosmic power of GPS navigation into the smallest possible space, but the Macro GPS Bike Computer takes a slightly different approach. It essentially packages the same improved functionality of the updated Mini GPS in a larger, more user-friendly footprint. It’s still a barely noticeable addition to the cockpit, but the larger screen–equal to the Super GPS’s screen and almost twice the size of the Mini–provides an option for those who want a supremely affordable GPS head unit with intuitive simplicity but an easier-to-read screen. Compared to the more expensive Super GPS model with which it shares a screen size, the Macro GPS drops features like Glonass connectivity, ANT+, and the built-in barometer and accelerometer, none of which hamper its essential mission of providing satellite-generated data to record and improve your ride experience unless you’re planning on a gravel tour through the former Soviet Union. Those omissions are even less noticeable in the presence of Lezyne’s new Ally app, which allows the Macro GPS to sync with a smartphone in order to do what even the previous generation of the Super couldn’t: provide live navigation and Strava syncing. Lezyne Ally lets you set pre-mapped routes to follow, and it also keeps tabs on segments when you’re in the hunt. Even without a smartphone, the Macro GPS reads, displays, and records Bluetooth broadcasts from heart rate monitors, power meters, cadence sensors, and whatever other ancillaries you’ve got hanging on your frame. This data is all packaged for tidy transfer to Lezyne’s Root GPS program, which is accessible through the brand’s homepage and which provides an upload interface every bit as intuitive as the Macro GPS’s four button navigation. If you’re already established on a third party program, the Macro GPS probably has you covered; through Lezyne Ally, it connects to popular training programs like Strava–as mentioned above–and Traini.
