When paired with the Garmin Edge 1000 GPS Cycling Computer, the tail light automatically adjusts its brightness for better visibility in ambient light situations. It operates in Solid or Flashing modes and increases intensity when the bike decelerates to warn of approaching traffic. By adding a second tail light, cyclists can utilize turn signals, which can be controlled through a compatible Garmin Edge or Garmin Varia Remote. A compatible Garmin Edge or Garmin Varia Remote also controls the pattern, intensity and on/off function of the tail light. Manual on/off controls allow for daytime use and an automatic shutoff prevents discharging batteries when stopping for a long time.
