Shorter saddles made an emergence on TT bikes over the past few years. With the governing body calling for a certain “saddle nose behind crank bolt” distance some riders would even go so far as to have their mechanic take a saw to the nose of the saddle to make it comply to the rules. By running a shorter saddle, a rider can position it in a more forward, powerful, and aero position while on the extensions. Aero queues are now more commonplace on drop bar road bikes and these shorter, wider saddles are appearing on breakaway artist’s bikes with a great saddle-to-bar drop. One such saddle is PRO’s Stealth Saddle. A large anatomic recessed area helps reduce pressure on soft tissue parts while riding all-day in an aero position. Subscribers to the “slam-that-stem” mindset or those budding to make the day’s breakaway stick might find PRO’s Stealth Carbon Saddle to their liking.This saddle uses stainless steel rails for strength and lightweight. A smooth PU cover reduces friction with shorts so you can maintain a smooth pedaling stroke. 142 and 152mm widths are available and the stiff and lightweight carbon reinforced polymer in-mold base construction yields support and riding comfort. Covering the shell, EVA foam provides proper padding that is firm and won’t rob you of any of your pedaling power. The wider nose is stable when creeping forward and getting low while the tail flares up providing a supportive perch to push against while climbing. Under the saddle at the rear, the accessory mount point allows you to attach a race number, light, fender, or camera mount.
