Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I just installed this onto a 26 inch mountain bike and it just fit with not much room left in the extendable arm. So if you have a large frame bike, it may not work? Other than that, it seems like a pretty sturdy rack. I haven't hit the trails yet but I put some pretty good weight on the rack and it did not move and seems like its going to do what its meant to do and that's carry my saddle bags. Now with that said, I would actually give this 5 stars and even would have given a 4 1/2 star rating now if they had halves. Don't bother trying to read the installation pamphlet unless you read a second language (I think it may be Dutch)? My best advice is to go off of the picture. And make sure to place the extendable arm in the second (middle) insert on the rack. Yes, I did not do this and actually put it in the first insert and had to do the whole process over again since the guides actually go into the first and third insert. Other than that, I would recommend this product. And make sure to use the inserts that go into the clamps that connect to the frame of your bike to prevent scratching the paint on the bike. Yes I missed that step as well. I think it would be fine if you didn't use them but it will scratch the paint on your bike.
